The Pink Out softball and baseball event was a resounding success, sunshine, and strong community support—all in the name of a great cause.

Held on May 5th, in partnership with Marlette and Brown City Schools, the event raised just shy of $13,000, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the BCUPS Program (Breast Cancer Understanding, Prevention, and Screening). Thanks to the generosity of event sponsors, participants, and attendees, the day was filled with enthusiasm, heartfelt stories, and meaningful impact.

Funds raised will support local women through free or reduced-cost breast cancer screenings and offer financial support to patients undergoing treatment.

“This event is about more than just the games—it’s about the people in our communities who are impacted by breast cancer every day,” said Stephanie Langenburg, Aspire Rural Health System Foundation Director. “We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support.”

A highlight of the event was the raffle drawing, with prizes generously donated by Kohler Propane (Steve Kohler). Congratulations to our winners:

  • Jon Muxlow (Brown City): Winner of the 6-piece Milwaukee Toolset and bag
  • Jason Keys (Marlette): Winner of a $500 Zehnder’s Splash Village gift card
  • Kristyna Hine (Marlette): Winner of the NEBO cooling and warming bag

Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women. Early detection is critical to survival, and the BCUPS Program aims to remove barriers by offering vital screening services to local women. Additionally, for those already in treatment, the program provides grant funding—offering $500 every six months to eligible patients undergoing breast cancer treatment.

“If you know someone who could benefit from this support, please reach out,” said the Foundation. “This program is here for our neighbors, our friends, our family.”

  • The Aspire Rural Health System Foundation extends deep appreciation to all who made the event possible:
  • All who purchased t-shirts, raffle tickets, or attended the games
  • Marlette and Brown City Schools, including superintendents, athletic directors, staff, players, and coaches
  • The many volunteers and community members who donated their time and efforts

“It takes a village to create such a successful and meaningful event. We are proud and thankful to be part of such a caring community.”
