With March coming to a close, the Croswell City Council began their first meeting of April with updates regarding future construction projects and new contracts.

City Administrator David Tait reported that plans to replace many of the city’s street signs are almost ready to get underway. All of the new signs have been acquired with the city now looking to revise codes for traffic control. In addition, the city anticipates that pipe replacements are about five to six weeks out and will likely take place at the start of May. There are plans for a follow-up meeting to confirm both the details and dates surrounding construction. The Croswell Emergency Service (EMS) Contract was also approved at Monday night’s meeting.

It reflects planned improvements to be made according to the three-year plan outlined by the council. The current plan was approved at the December 4 meeting and included an increase of 10% to the ambulance fund in 2024, 35% in 2025, and 5% in 2026 and 2027. These increases aim to close the deficit that the ambulance fund had previously accrued.

The next city council meeting is scheduled for April 15, 2024, at 7:30 p.m.
