Inmates in St. Clair County Jail test positive for Covid-19

In a weekly updated press release, officials say seven inmates at the St. Clair County jail have been reported to be positive with the Coronavirus as of Thursday morning. Sheriff Department officials say the inmates are isolated from the general population at the jail. According to a press release from the department, there are also three corrections deputies and one nurse who currently have tested positive for COVID-19. The department said all employees are off-duty until they are fully recovered and none of the positive cases have required hospitalization. Sheriff Tim Donnellon said the jail continues to use best practices from the CDC and are doing everything possible to prevent the spread of the virus.
