(SANILAC COUNTY) – A power failure in Sandusky has been reported Friday morning, causing students to be sent home. Sandusky Fire Chief Todd Hillman said the power failure came as a result of a downed power line near the intersection of Stoutenberg and Campbell Roads. Hillman said he believed the wire came down on it’s own and was not pulled down or a pole struck. Several businesses, residences and schools were without power for a short time. School officials said students would be released from school at 10:40 a.m. Hillman said DTE crews were on scene and repairs were underway and expected to be finished before noon.
