Imlay City teachers pitch in to help needy students

Christmas was an extra special time for some lucky Imlay City Middle School students last week. Along with their usual generosity at the holidays for other benefits, staff decided to pitch in and donate money to cancel the debt 45 students had with the school’s lunch program. Despite the time of year when money is harder to come by, more than $700 was raised by faculty to wipe the slate clean for the students. Based on the success and happiness the project brought, school officials say the gesture could become an annual event.
