Communities serviced by Lapeer Fire & Rescue have been busy approving new contracts, including a new 10-year agreement Lapeer Township intends to sign with the City. The township’s contract will cost taxpayers roughly $145,000 the first year with built-in cost of living increase. Orgeon Township is also working out final details of an 11-year contract that will cost them around $85,000 the first year. Lapeer Fire & Rescue has a coverage area of approximately 100 square milesserving the City of Lapeer and the townships of Lapeer and Mayfiled along with the southern half of Oregon Township.
