Counterfeit hundred dollar bill passed in Sandusky

The Sandusky Police Department has seized a counterfeit $100 bill circulating in the city earlier this month, according to information on the department’s Facebook page.
The bill appears realistic, but has a Turkish word printed in small black letters on both the front and back of the bill, that stands for non-negotiable or not valid. Officials say this is a recent scam occurring in the Midwest that has now reached Sanilac County.
Officers warm that individuals and businesses should be on the lookout for these or any other suspicious looking bills and are encouraged to call the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office at (810) 648-2000 should anyone try to pass the bills as real currency.
