Port Huron police shoot aggressive dog

Port Huron police officers responded to a report of two dogs being aggressive early Monday evening and ended up shooting and killing one of them. Officers responded to a home on Chestnut Street around 6 p.m. and found two dogs chasing neighborhood children and being aggressive. At least one of the dogs was a pit bull. Police tried to contain the dogs, but one charged officers, forcing police to shoot it. The dog’s owner wasn’t home at the time of the call, but voluntarily surrendered the other dog upon their return. Police are investigating to see if any charges will be filed.
