The help wanted sign is out in the Village of Lexington.
Do you have Village Manager skills? How about Police Chief qualifications? If so, Lexington may want to talk with you.
The village is looking to fill their top two administrative spots, following the announcement of Village Manager Sean Adams that he will resign his position at the end of June.
Village Council now faces the task of finding a new manager and a police chief. Adams, who has been manager since last September, said he wants to seek employment on the west side of the state and be closer to his family.
Lexington officials have been battling personnel issues with it’s police and fire department in recent weeks. The village Chief of Police Neal Rossow had shown initial interest in the top job, but changed his mind due to the “political climate” in the village.
The police department is largely staffed by part-time officers and recently, both the fire chief and assistant fire chief resigned earlier this year, after serving the department for over 20 years.
Some on the fire department claimed the department was getting what they described as “too much interference” from village employees on how things should be done.
