Police investigate accident
(Macomb County) – A Yale couple returning home from the Detroit Tigers Opening Day game was involved in an accident Friday night that claimed the life of a man from Mackinac County. According to police, an SUV driven by the Yale couple collided head-on with another SUV on Capac Road near Pratt Road in Macomb County. Police said the northbound vehicle crossed the center line and crashed ionto the southbound SUV.
The suspect, a 33-year-old Yale man, and his wife were also injured in the incident and transported to an area hospital and reported to be in good condition. Police investigation shows the Yale couple had attended Opening Day at Comerica Park, where the driver had consumed alcoholic beverages.
They suspect the Yale man was operating under the influence of alcohol at the time of the fatal crash.
