Lapeer Sheriff Sergeant credited with saving life

Police investigate drug use

A Lapeer County sheriff deputy is being credited for saving the life of a 36-year old Flint man after the deputy administered Narcan on the unresponsive man last weekend. Detective/Sergeant Jason Parks found the man suffering from an apparent heroin overdose and later found evidence of heroin in the victim’s possession. It is the second time in the past six months a deputy has used Narcan to treat an overdose victim and the fifth save since deputies started carrying Narcan in their patrol units.
