Tatar scores in OT to lift Red Wings past Senators

OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) – Tomas Tatar scored on a breakaway 2:04 into overtime to lift the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Monday night. Dylan Larkin, Gustav Nyquist, and Riley Sheahan also scored for Detroit. Jimmy Howard finished with 22 saves. Mike Hoffman, Bobby Ryan and Chris Wideman scored for Ottawa, and Craig Anderson stopped 37 shots. On the winning goal, Tatar took a pass from Nyquist and went in alone from the Senators blue line before beating Anderson. Ryan and Wideman scored in a frantic third period, including the tying score from Ryan with less than 3 minutes to go in regulation. Wednesday the Red Wings host the Washington Capitals at the Joe at 8 p.m.
