Baker College of Port Huron opens student housing complex

(PORT HURON) — Baker College of Port Huron has a new $3.5 million, 49-bed student housing complex. An event was held this week to mark the opening of the complex, which is designed to support the growing enrollment for the college’s Culinary Institute of Michigan. The 40,000-square-foot facility has two- or four-person apartments that are fully furnished, and there are common areas that include a study room, lounges and an entertainment room. The building’s first residents are from four states including Michigan. They moved into the 17 apartments last month in time for the fall quarter. One apartment is for a live-in residence coordinator.
