Police investigate bank theft attempt
(BROCKWAY) – An attempted break-in to an ATM machine in Brockway Township
failed early Saturday morning.
According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, deputies from the Sheriff’s Office were called to the Tri-County Bank on Brockway Road, south of Yale, shortly after 4:00 a.m.
Upon arrival, deputies saw that the outer door of the machine had been pried open, but the safe inside, where the money is held, was intact. Investigators say they have no information regarding the suspects in the case.
Bank officials are downloading video surveillance camera information that will be forwarded to the Sheriff’s Office.
Yale Police also assisted at the scene of the incident.
