Sandusky’s Horst named General Manager of the Milwaukee Bucks

Sandusky is in the NBA! Jon Horst, a 2002 Sandusky graduate, had quite a thrill Friday afternoon when he was named the new General Manager of the Milwaukee Bucks. He will be taking over top level duties in the front office.

Horst, son of Randy and Kathleen Horst, has been with the Bucks organization since 2008, after getting his start with the Detroit Pistons. With the Bucks, he has been working as Director of Basketball Operations.

Former Bucks General Manager John Hammond had entertained thoughts of taking Horst with him to his new job with the Orlando Magic but the Bucks move Friday was just what Horst was looking for. The two had worked together in Detroit, according to multiple reports.

The Bucks had other candidates in mind, but when they went to the Denver Nuggets organization, the choice became clear and they looked no further than Horst.

Among his first responsibilities will be working with other front office personnel on the rapidly approaching NBA draft.
