County officials meet with farmers; haulers

In an effort to create a more open line of communication and to address some concerns, officials from the Sanilac County Road Commission held an informational meeting on Tuesday with large area dairy farmers and owners of waste hauling companies. Sanilac County Road Commission Engineer Robb Falls felt the meeting was productive and all parties agreed to work together to try to minimize road condition concerns.

Falls said there have been numerous complaints from residents when the hauling companies use county gravel roads with their large equipment, stirring up clouds of dust.

The haulers and farmers agreed to contact the Road Commission office in advance, so they can help control the dust.
