Businesses win contest

Two Sanilac County businesses competed in the new “Catapult Your Craft Food & Beverage Business Contest” at the Sandusky District Library earlier this week.

The presentations from the craft food industry demonstrated the impact and growth of the craft food business in the region. Elk Street Brewery won first place for the success of its craft beer growth strategy and 3 North Vines won 2nd place.

Carl Osentoski, Executive Director of the Sanilac Regional Economic Consortium said the competition was started to help support the growth of craft food and beverage businesses in Sanilac County and the I-69 Thumb Region.

The Elk Street Brewery will move on to the regional contest, with a chance to win $5,000 for first place, $3,000 for second place or $1,000 for third place in the regional finals. The regional competition will take place on January 24th at the Davison Country Club.
