Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department utilizing new Radar Display Trailer

(TUSCOLA COUNTY) — The Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department recently obtained a radar display trailer through a grant. The trailer displays an approaching vehicle’s speed. It also has warning lights for speeds over the posted speed limit to warn drivers. The radar unit records speeds to be used for traffic safety studies. Tuscola County Undersheriff Glen Skrent says the department often receives complaints from residents regarding speeding in their neighborhood. Deputies will now have the ability to set up the trailer in those targeted areas in an effort to increase safety for motorists and pedestrians. The department would like to thank the Caro Walmart for contributing $1,000 towards the purchase of the trailer.
