Mustard’s Retreat Fundraiser Concert

February 20 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Mustard’s Retreat performs fundraiser concert to support the Blue Water Folk Society and Thumbfest

(Lexington, MI – January 22, 2026) – Mustard’s Retreat – the dynamic duo of David Tamulevich and Libby Glover – brings five decades of folk magic to the stage with their signature blend of intelligent, thought-provoking, and insightful songwriting. Their music has carried them over a million miles and through more than 6,000 performances, ranging from the prestigious Kennedy Center and The Ark in Ann Arbor to community pig roasts.

Now, they are bringing that legendary joyful energy to the Lexington Village Theatre on February 20! Join us for an unforgettable evening supporting the Blue Water Folk Society and Thumbfest 2026.

The duo has recently begun describing their musical journey as “Defiantly Hopeful.” More than just a nod to their longevity, the phrase serves as a mission statement for their music. “Folk music is, at its heart, defiantly hopeful,” David Tamulevich explains. “We came of age in the ‘60s at the confluence of Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, and the singer-songwriter revolution. We’ve always cared more about our values and finding common ground with our audience than about fame or money. This is our community of choice, and we consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to be here.”

The evening begins with a special performance by local band “Ourselves” as they dig deep into the archives to revisit the music that founding member Michael Hough, now retired, helped create during his 40-plus years with the band. Think of it as a musical time machine – a nostalgic journey through the songs that built the Mustard’s Retreat legacy.

The Blue Water Folk Society would like to thank both Mustard’s Retreat and “Ourselves” for supporting the organization by donating their time and talents to this event!

Doors open at 6pm, and the concert starts at 6:30pm. Admission by donation. The evening will include a cash bar and 50/50 raffle.
