DESCRIPTION:McKenzie Celebrates National Reading Month with Community Coloring Contest \nSanilac County\, Mich. – McKenzie Health System is celebrating National Reading Month this March with a county-wide coloring contest to encourage creativity and highlight the importance of reading. \nNational Reading Month is held every March in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The goal is to inspire people of all ages to read every day. Studies show that daily reading improves vocabulary\, focus\, and academic success in children. \n“Reading helps people of all ages learn\, grow\, and discover new ideas\,” said Heather Baumeister\, Director of Healthcare Practices at McKenzie Health System. “We love celebrating National Reading Month and encouraging families to make reading a daily habit\, whether through books\, eBooks\, newspapers\, or magazines.” \nThe coloring contest is open to children up to age 10\, and entries will be accepted March 1-31. Coloring sheets are available at McKenzie healthcare offices in Croswell\, Peck\, Port Sanilac\, and Sandusky\, or can be downloaded at www.mckenziehealth.org/2026-Color. Completed entries can be submitted online\, and winners will be chosen through a random drawing at the end of the month.
