Woman arrested, arraigned following attempted murder on Thanksgiving Day in Burtchville Township

A woman has been arrested following an attempted murder on Thanksgiving in Burtchville Township.

St. Clair County Sheriff Deputies were called to Lake Huron Medical Center the afternoon of Thursday, November 27, after a man arrived with a stab wound to his chest. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the man’s girlfriend had stabbed him and struck him over the head with a blunt object. The man has since been discharged from the hospital.

Deputies responded to Catawba Drive in Burtchville Township and took the girlfriend, 28-year-old Taylor Spigner, into custody. She was arraigned on three felony charges and one misdemeanor in 72nd District Court on Monday, December 1. Bond was set at $250,000 cash/surety.

Spigner faces felony attempted murder, felony assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, felony assault with a dangerous weapon, and misdemeanor domestic violence.

She will appear in court again for her probable cause conference next Tuesday, December 9.
