
Local law enforcement in Sanilac County once again participated in the DEA sponsored National Drug Take Back Day, held on Saturday, October 25th.
245 pounds of unused/ unwanted/ expired prescriptions were collected in Sanilac County and turned over to the DEA for the Fall Take Back date, with the Sheriff’s Office collecting almost 80 lbs. Marlette’s dropbox collected 65.2 lbs, Croswell’s collected 32.6 lbs, Lexington and Brown City Police Departments collected about 22 lbs each, Deckerville Healthcare’s dropbox collected 17.2 lbs and Peck Police Department collected 5.6 lbs.
These locations all have year round drop boxes that can be utilized during normal business hours. The Sanilac County Drug Task Force, DEA and local police departments thank the community for doing their part in safely disposing of unused/ unwanted medications.
