Croswell-Lexington Community Schools report that police investigation into a hit-list allegedly made by a middle school student has found the rumors to be false.
The investigation stems from events at a football game on Friday, October 3, when an altercation between students occurred. The altercation was investigated, with the school taking steps to hold those involved responsible.
However, following reports of alleged threats by an involved student, investigation began again in conjunction with the Croswell Police Department. The investigation ultimately found no evidence to substantiate the rumor, and thus confirmed no threat to the school district.
District parents were informed of the investigation by Superintendent Colette Moody via a letter home to parents on Thursday, October 9. In that letter, Superintendent Moody noted that, as a precaution, there may be an increased local police presence at the school, with Premier Security, the firm the school contracts with, to continue monitoring student safety.
