Brown City’s personnel committee will meet to review applications for the interim city manager position next Monday, October 13, at 5:30 p.m.
The meeting was announced Wednesday morning, following the October 7th deadline for applications. The position is open due to the resignation of current city manager Chuck Bennett in late August. Bennett, who gave a 60-day notice when he submitted his resignation letter on Wednesday, August 27, has served as city manager since October 2022, when he succeeded Clint Holmes in the role.
The interim position is temporary and will remain in place until a permanent city manager is appointed, with compensation to be based on qualifications and experience.
Also on the agenda for Monday night’s meeting is a discussion on Brown City Police Lt. Marc Perez’s wage for a training period, as well as plans to begin discussions of a future contract for the officer.
The committee will meet Monday evening at the City Hall, located at 4205 Main Street in Brown City.
