Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Dion DiMucci is releasing a new album this fall.
The musician is set to drop The Rock ‘n’ Roll Philosopher on Oct. 24, which will serve as a companion album to his memoir of the same name, which came out in January.
The album features six new songs written by Dion and Mike Aquilina and reimagined versions of some of Dion’s classic tunes, as well as songs he released over the last decade. The first taste of the new material is “I’m Your Gangster of Love,” which is out now via digital outlets.
The album features guest appearances by Dire Straits’ Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, guitarist Joe Bonamassa and blues musician Sonny Landreth.
Clapton, who contributed a prologue to the book, also contributes a forward to the album, calling Dion “a genius singer, writer, musician and healer.”
“He is the perfect example of how you can do what you love to do and still be available to the lives of others,” he adds.
