St. Clair County authorities are investigating a hit and run that killed a 34-year-old man Monday morning.
St. Clair County Central Dispatch was contacted shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Monday, August 18, with the caller reporting a man and bicycle lying in the roadway on M-29 near Martindale Court. It appeared the man and his bike had been struck by another vehicle.
Deputies arrived on scene, along with Marine City Area Fire Authority and TriHospital EMS, and confirmed 34 year old Thomas Israel of St. Clair, to be deceased. St. Clair County detectives are working to identify a suspect vehicle at this time.
