Sanilac County Public Safety Day & Police and Fireman’s Association Dinner June 11

(SANILAC COUNTY) — A number of Sanilac County Law Enforcement Officers, Dispatchers, Firefighters, and E.M.T.’s will be honored at the Sanilac County Police and Fireman’s Association Awards Dinner on Saturday, June 11 at the Sanilac Shrine Park. The awards presentation is part of the 5th annual Sanilac County Public Safety Day. Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputy Todd Laming and Lexington Police Officer Cameron O’Mara will be presented with the “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” awards. Croswell Firemen Derek Sheridan and Robert Fuller will be honored as Sanilac County’s “Firefighters of the Year.” “E.M.T of the Year” honors will be shared by Cindy Cristini, Bill Parsell, and David Phetteplace. “Dispatcher of the Year” awards will be given to Sanilac County Dispatchers Rikki Tschirhart and Jennifer Hartel. The family of the late Robert Kenny will receive the “Bronze Award” in recognition of his many years of outstanding service and leadership as Sandusky Fire Chief and Sanilac County Undersheriff. The “President’s Award” will be presented to Sanilac EMS Paramedic Terry McGregor. Meritorious Service awards will also be given to Sanilac County Dispatcher Michelle Obee, Lexington PoliceOfficer Timothy McNabb, Deputy Darrell Witham, and Pastor Alex Weiss. The public is welcome to attend the awards dinner from 4-7 p.m. Tickets for the steak dinner are $15 and are available at the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department or your local fire chief. Tickets will also be available at the park the day of the event. The Sanilac County Public Safety Day begins at Noon with family games and activities, softball games, and safety information.
