(TUSCOLA COUNTY) — Troopers from the Caro State Police Post continue to investigate an aggravated assault case that took place early Tuesday morning in Tuscola County’s Gilford Township. Troopers were sent to the McLaren Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City where a 36-year old Gilford area man was being treated. He had been severely beaten at a residence and suffered serious facial injuries. The man was later transferred to a Flint area hospital and remains in stable condition. Detectives interviewed two suspects, a 47-year old Gilford area man and a 20-year old Vassar man. Both were arrested and lodged in the Tuscola County jail on charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. The incident remains under investigation.
