Michigan State Police and the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office are on the lookout for a car that fled an accident last Friday night.
Michigan State Troopers from the Caro post and sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene at Peck and Isles Roads in Flynn Township around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, May 30, after a passerby called in an accident between a vehicle and a horse and buggy.
Investigation found that a 35-year-old Brown City man had been traveling east on Peck Road in his buggy when he was rear-ended by a white passenger car, also traveling east. However, the passenger car left the scene immediately following the crash.
The Brown City man suffered a head injury, while his horse received a wound to its leg. The man was transported to a local hospital via ambulance for treatment.
Vehicle parts recovered at the scene are believed to have been on a 2010-2014 Ford Fusion, possibly white in color. Anyone with information is asked to contact MSP Caro at 989-673-2156 or Sanilac County Central Dispatch at 810-648-2000.
