LOS ANGELES (AP) – Some live shows feature wardrobe malfunctions. In this case, it was a microphone malfunction that marred a performance by Adele at the Grammys. As she sang “All I Ask,” the audio dropped out for several seconds. Turned out what happened was that a microphone placed inside the piano accompanying her fell off its stand. That sent the mic crashing into the steel strings that give the instrument its sound – making it sound like a badly tuned guitar. It appears technicians cut the audio for between 5-8 seconds before resuming the performance. Adele seemed thrown off by the mishap – but later was taking it in stride. She tweeted: “(Expletive) happens.”
