(PORT HURON) — The accused Brockway Township Tri-County Bank robber waived his preliminary exam Tuesday in St. Clair County District Court. 51-year old Thomas Goullette of Armada Township will stand trial on the charge of armed robbery. He allegedly entered the bank near Yale on January 7 and demanded money. Authorities say the former Dryden Community Schools Superintendent brandished a handgun during the heist. Tips on the suspect pickup truck lead authorities to Goullette’s home where he was arrested January 21. He is also the suspect in the January 8 armed robbery of the Oxford Bank branch in Dryden Township and a warrant was issued through the Lapeer County Prosecutors Office. Goullette remains jailed on a $1 million bond. A circuit court arraignment date was not immediately available. Goullette served as Superintendent of Dryden Community Schools from 2005 to 2013.
