Melvin woman injured in crash

(SANILAC COUNTY) – A Melvin woman was injured in a one vehicle rollover accident in Sanilac County’s Speaker Township Monday night.

According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, deputies responded to the report of a rollover accident near the intersection of Gardner Line and Bricker Road just before 6 p.m.

Investigators say a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by an 18-year-old Melvin female was traveling south on Bricker Road when she swerved to miss a deer.

The driver lost control of the car, entering a ditch causing the vehicle to rollover and ejecting the driver.

The woman was treated on scene and later transported to Lapeer McLaren Hospital by Croswell EMS for further treatment.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

Deputies were assisted by Michigan State Police and the Speaker Township Fire Department.
