Multiple injuries in Worth Township UTV accident

Three people were injured in a UTV crash Saturday night in Sanilac County’s Worth Township. Sheriff’s deputies responded to Black River Road, near Burns Line Road shortly after 9:30 Saturday night to find a 2019 Can Am Macerick X3 overturned in the roadway. Investigation revealed that the vehicle, driven by a 27-year old Melvin man, was heading northbound on Black River Road when it entered the east ditch before jumping an embankment and coming to rest on its roof in the road. Two passengers, a 20-year old woman from Brown City and a 20-year old Ypsilanti woman, were thrown from the vehicle. All three occupants were transported to Port Huron McLaren hospital for treatment of injuries. Their names are being withheld, as alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Sanilac County Sheriff Deputies received assistance by the Croswell Police Department, the Croswell Fire Department and Croswell EMS.
