Sandusky City Council hears from medical marijuana business

A representative of the Oasis Wellness Center, involved with the medical marijuana business, spoke to Sandusky city council Monday evening, testing the waters to see what council’s reaction would be to the issue. The business is currently in the process of constructing a 320,000 square foot facility in Bangor Township with an investment of over $20 million dollars. The company spokesperson pointed out that in 2008, 64% of Sanilac County voters were in favor of medical marijuana and the county currently has over 1,000 patients legally using the substance. City officials later said they are in no rush to take a stand on the issue and will wait and see what happens around the state before addressing the issue further.
