Sanilac County Prosecutor James Young has decided to not press charges related to a New Year’s Day accident that claimed the life of a 25-year old Deckerville man. Andrew Kautz died of his injuries from a rollover accident that according to police, went unreported. Three people in a vehicle came up on the accident and transported a passenger in the Kautz vehicle, later returning to take Kautz as well, all without notifying authorities. Young said there was nothing based on criminal law, that he felt justified charging the passenger or the three people who stopped to assist.
