The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office released the following press release Monday afternoon:
There were significant activities involving both alcohol and narcotics events this past weekend within the community.
NARCOTIC EVENTS:
1) Friday 04-21-2017 at 4:02 PM, Michigan State Police Troopers, Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Lapeer County EMS responded to a non-responsive individual within a motor vehicle on I-69 near Elba Road in Elba Township. Narcan was used to revive.
2) Saturday 04-22-2017 at 10:32 AM, Metamora Township Police, Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Lapeer County EMS responded to a business parking lot located in Metamora Township for a 38 year old male that was not responsive. Narcan was used to revive.
3) Monday 04-24-2017 at 1:33 AM, Deputy Brandon Strzynski performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for the offense of failing to dim headlights at M-24 and Sawdust Corners Road in Mayfield Township. The vehicle had an improper registration plate and no insurance. The 30 year old female driver from Lapeer was discovered to be in possession of suspected heroin and associated paraphernalia.
ALCOHOL EVENTS:
1) Friday 04-21-2017 at 3:42 PM (afternoon), Deputy Boynton conducted a traffic stop on I-69 near Lake Nepessing Road in Lapeer and arrested the driver for suspicion of operating while intoxicated.
2) On Saturday 04-22-2017 at 3:37 PM (afternoon), Deputy Mike Tappen conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after motorist reported observing an erratic driving pattern to 911. The 36 year old male from Attica was arrested for suspicion of operating while intoxicated.
3) On Saturday 04-22-2017 at 3:54 PM (afternoon), Deputy William Osborne conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after motorist reported observing an erratic driving pattern to 911. The 48 year old male from Flint was arrested for suspicion of operating while intoxicated.
4) On Saturday 04-22-2017 at 10:06 PM, Deputy Jesse Rhodes conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at M-53 (Cedar Street) near Third Street in Imlay City. The driver a 38 year old female from Yale was arrested for suspicion of operating while intoxicated.
5) On Saturday 04-22-2017 at 10:39 PM, Metamora Township Police Department, Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Michigan State Police Troopers converged on a party in Metamora Township where numerous minors were consuming alcohol.
On Saturday 04-22-2017, two individuals arrested and brought into the jail were considered suicidal. Corrections Division Deputies with the Lapeer County Jail have a valuable work relationship with Lapeer County Community Mental Health. Mental Health officials visited both of these inmates as a precautionary measure.
Sheriff Scott McKenna wanted to inform the community of the events over the weekend. Lapeer County law enforcement officers saved countless lives over the weekend. The public can be assured that Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies are working diligently to make our community safe.
