It was a great day for a bike ride for more than 50 adventurous souls Sunday in the 20th annual Lexington to Croswell ride.

(Lexington) – More than 50 brave souls bundled up and headed for Lexington Sunday morning to take part in the 20th annual New Years bicycle ride. After 30 or so riders battled blizzard like conditions a year ago, event organizer Mike Ziegler was pleased with the turnout and the sunny skies.

Riders of all ages, and in all sorts of dress, came to get some exercise, have fun and enjoy the sunny, blue skies.

The group met near Wimpy’s in downtown Lexington and headed west to Croswell on the 12-mile cruise. Among those riding was seasoned cycling veteran Gary Fetting who averages over 5,000 miles a year on his bike. Fetting, of Watertown Township, rode his bike to Lexington, took part in the event and then rode back home.

Also joining in on the ride was WMIC’s Program Director Stan Grabitz and WMIC high school sports broadcaster Cliff Amey.
