
A Dryden man with five prior OWI convictions and a revoked license was arrested Friday night, according to the Michigan State Police.
Troopers with the Lapeer Post stopped the 56-year-old man for speeding on Brandon Road, near Oneil Road in St. Clair County’s Kenockee Township around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2026. Upon being stopped by the trooper, the male driver pulled into the driveway of a private residence, stopped his vehicle and immediately ran away from troopers.
Troopers requested assistance, with the Port Huron PD sending their canine team and drone operator to help locate the suspect. The suspect was found in the woods near the residence, hiding underneath a log.
The man had multiple outstanding warrants, was Operating While Intoxicated with 5 prior OWI convictions, and his license had been revoked by the Secretary of State.
The suspect was lodged at St. Clair County Jail on at least three charges: operating while intoxicated (OWI), 3rd Offense; driving while license is suspended; and resisting and obstructing police.
