Law enforcement asks community to stay vigilant as investigation into Shana Umbreit’s disappearance continues

Investigation into the January disappearance of a Harbor Beach woman continues.

Harbor Beach Police offered an update on the investigation Monday, February 9, a little over two weeks after 36-year-old Shana Umbreit was reported missing on Sunday, January 25. Law enforcement is concerned about the circumstances surrounding Shana’s disappearance, with the Michigan State Police and other agencies assisting in the investigation.

Shana, described as a white female, standing at approximately 5’6 and weighing about 150 lbs, was last seen on surveillance video at Brown’s Market in Harbor Beach on Friday, January 23, around 9:40 p.m. When last seen, she was wearing an olive green jacket, white sweatshirt, blue jeans, and brown boots.

If you know the whereabouts of Shana, please contact the Harbor Beach Police Department or 9-1-1 immediately. Anonymous tips can also be given.
