Michigan State Troopers are investigating a traffic crash that involved a patrol vehicle in Lapeer County.
The traffic crash occurred between the patrol vehicle and a Chevrolet Traverse on M-53, near Burnside Road around 4:20 p.m. on Monday, September 28. The Chevrolet was being driven by a 68-year-old Avoca man and held four additional passengers.
The MSP Third District reports that the involved trooper was not injured, though one 67-year-old passenger in the other involved vehicle sustained serious injuries that required transport to a local hospital.
Specific details about the crash’s circumstances have not yet been released, with the roadway being closed for investigation around 6:30 p.m. before reopening just before 9 p.m.
