A two-vehicle crash in Sanilac County’s Greenleaf Township injured a driver and their 4-year-old passenger Monday evening.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch was contacted shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 27, with a report of a two-vehicle injury crash at the intersection of Germania and Cass City Roads in Greenleaf Township. Deputies, along with the Michigan State Police, Cass City MMR, and the Bingham Fire Department, responded to the scene.
The investigation showed that a northbound 2019 Dodge Ram being driven by a 30-year-old man from Ohio did not stop at the stop sign at the above intersection. An eastbound, 2009 Saturn Outlook being driven by a 35-year-old Cass City woman and also occupied by a 4-year-old boy from Cass City, did not have a traffic control device for their direction of travel. The northbound Dodge Ram ran a stop sign and struck the passenger side of the Saturn Outlook.
The driver and passenger of the Saturn were taken to Saginaw Covenant Hospital by Cass City MMR for treatment of injuries. Seatbelts were used and airbags did deploy on both vehicles. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
