The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office announced on Friday, July 3, a couple had been arrested for one of two incidents of drive-by shooting.

The pair of incidents happened about two weeks ago, with the first reported shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26. Lapeer County Sheriff Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Angle Road in Lapeer for several gunshots fired at a home from a motor vehicle. Security camera footage and subsequent investigation determined that their suspects had been traveling east in a dark blue or black Chevrolet Impala when they fired 7 rounds into the residence. 9 mm shell casings were also recovered at the scene.

Two days later, on Sunday, June 28, shortly before 7:40 p.m., deputies responded to the same area again for a second incident of shots fired, but now at a different residence. Investigation determined that the suspect vehicle was a westbound GMC Acadia, with five rounds being shot and no shell casings recovered in this incident.

Following multiple interviews and search warrants, law enforcement arrested two individuals involved in the Friday shooting, a 19-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man. Their names are being withheld until they are arraigned in Lapeer County’s 71-A District Court.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the Sunday, June 28th incident.
