Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson reports that his deputies were called to a residence on Purdy Road in Paris Township shortly after 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, after a family confrontation had ended in gunfire.
Upon arriving at the scene, investigators found a 48-year-old man from Ruth who had been shot in the chest with a .22 caliber handgun, with the man being transported via ambulance to Harbor Beach Community Hospital. The 23-year-old suspect, a relative of the wounded man, was spotted in Roseville around 11 p.m. after fleeing the scene earlier, with the Roseville Police arresting him.
