Traffic Stop in Watertown Township Leads to Arrest and Seizure of Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine

A 35-year-old Watertown Township woman was arrested last Thursday after over 30 grams of methamphetamine was found during a traffic stop.

The Sanilac County Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop on S. Sandusky Road, near Dell Street in Watertown Township on Thursday, April 2, 2026. The stop was conducted as part of an ongoing joint investigation with the Sandusky Police Department into the sale of illegal narcotics within the City of Sandusky and throughout Sanilac County.

During the traffic stop, Drug Task Force investigators located approximately 37 grams of methamphetamine and 9 grams of crack cocaine. As a result, a 35-year-old woman from Watertown Township, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested and lodged at the Sanilac County Jail, while the driver of the vehicle, a 36-year-old man from Custer Township, was cited and released.

The Sanilac County Drug Task Force was assisted by the Uniform Services Division and the Sandusky Police Department. This remains an ongoing investigation, and no additional information will be released at this time.
