Multiple fire departments responded to a house fire that claimed the life of a 65-year-old man Saturday night in St. Clair County’s Kimball Township.
Deputies from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 5600 block of Flinchbaugh Road in Kimball Township at 9:40 p.m. Saturday after receiving a report from an alarm company of a residential fire. Upon arrival, deputies found the home ablaze with the man still trapped inside. Several area fire departments, along with Tri-Hospital EMS, responded to the scene. The 65-year-old man, who lived at the home, did not survive the fire. The scene has been turned over to detectives from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office for investigation.
