A Port Hope man was killed Friday afternoon in a tractor rollover accident in Huron County.
The Huron County Sheriff’s Office reports that their office, as well as other emergency responders, were dispatched shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 20, to an accident scene near the intersection of Ruppel Road and M-25 in Rubicon Township. The accident had been called in by a passerby who found the tractor rolled over onto its operator.
Preliminary investigation suggests that 83-year-old Rodney Weiss of Port Hope had suffered a medical emergency prior to the accident. Firefighters from Port Hope and Harbor Beach freed him from under the LS loader tractor, but he was unfortunately pronounced deceased at the scene.
Other responding agencies were the Eastern Huron Ambulance and the Huron County Medical Examiner’s Office.
