Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a Wednesday night collision between two vehicles in Sanilac County’s Worth Township.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a report shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, about a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Galbraith Line and St. Clair Roads in Worth Township. Deputies from the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Croswell Fire Department and Croswell EMS, responded to the scene.
Investigation found that a 21-year-old Burtchville man was traveling southbound on St. Clair Road in a 2018 Jeep and failed to stop at the posted intersection. The Jeep was then struck by a westbound 2023 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 23-year-old Sandusky woman, with both vehicles coming to rest in the southeast ditch.
The driver of the Jeep was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was transported by Croswell EMS to McLaren Port Huron Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Malibu was not injured.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
