Construction activity continues to progress on McKenzie Health System’s Replacement Hospital Project.
This week, crews focused on interior piers in Areas A and B, steel erection in Area C, and continued work on the Area D loading dock foundation. Teams also completed underground water installation and pressure testing and began mobilizing and laying out underground DTE conduit.
Notable milestones included the first steel post being set and continued steel placement in Area D. In the coming days, work will continue with excavation and pours for Area B piers and foundations, erection of structural steel in Area D, and completion of loading dock foundation walls. Crews will also proceed with installing underground DTE conduit and prepare for a Gates Road closure and water tie-in.
The construction plan includes the new hospital, along with a wide entrance on M-46, a second entrance on Gates Road, and spacious parking. There is also additional acreage for expansion and new buildings that may be needed in the years ahead.
The new hospital project, which recently received a Letter of Conditions from the USDA’s Community Facilities Program for a direct loan, broke ground in October 2025, and is estimated to finish in Spring of 2027.
