St. Clair County man facing 10 charges related to child sexually abusive material possession

A St. Clair County man has been arrested on ten counts related to possessing child sexually abusive material.

The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force announced on Friday, January 9, that they had arrested Mark Alon Piper, age 60 of East China, for aggravated possession of CSAM, possession of CSAM, and using a computer to commit a crime.

Piper turned himself into the court following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his home. The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Piper was sharing files of CSAM on the internet. Piper was charged with four counts of aggravated possession of CSAM, one count possession of CSAM, and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

Piper was arraigned in the 72 District Court on Monday, December 22, and was scheduled to appear in court again today, January 14, for his probable cause conference. He is also due to appear for his preliminary examination at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, in Marine City’s 72nd District Court.
