Croswell road rage incident, police search ends with involved man found deceased

A road rage incident in Croswell Wednesday afternoon ended with a man found dead in his home.

Croswell Police report that around 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, the department responded to the area of North Howard and Wells Streets for a report of two individuals involved in a road rage incident. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the two involved men, with one of the men eventually brandishing a firearm towards officers before fleeing the scene on foot.

Officers pursued the man, but visual contact was lost and a perimeter was set up in the area he was last seen while fleeing. Several attempts to locate him via family members, community tips and other investigative methods, such as deploying a drone, did not yield results. The search ended at the man’s home, where the man was found deceased.

Croswell Police were assisted in the search and investigation by the Lexington Police Department, Peck Police Department, Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan DNR, Michigan State Police, the Port Sanilac Fire Department, Sanilac County Medical Examiner’s Office and Croswell EMS.
